Hydraulic System Tests 2. Raise the ROPS/FOPS according to “Raising ROPS/FOPS” on page 140.
Main Relief Pressure Test Table 19: Main/Port Relief Pressure Values
CAUTION A minimum of a 69 bar (1000 psi) pressure gauge is required. Damage may result to gauges of insufficient capacity.
Parameter
Main Relief (Standard Flow Auxiliary)
4. Lower the ROPS/FOPS according to “Lower ROPS/FOPS” on page 142.
6. Check the pressure reading on the gauge. Pressure should be 21-24 bar (305-350 psi). 7. If the pressure is either lower or higher than specified, refer to the following Manitou service manuals: • Later Machines: “Eaton 72400 Back-toBack Pump Service Manual” [Manitou part # 50940605]. • Early Machines: “Eaton 350 Series Pump Service Manual” [Manitou part # 50940040]. 8. When finished, complete the “Mandatory Safety Shutdown Procedure” on page 22.
Note
Main circuit operates lift, tilt, and standard aux. High-Flow Auxiliary Relief 195-205 bar (2825-2975 psi)
3. Remove the metal cap from the test port (S) and install a 69 bar (1000 psi) minimum capacity pressure gauge on the charge pressure test port.
5. Start the engine and allow it to run until the hydraulic oil is at operating temperature, around 60° C (140° F).
Value (measured at high idle [1750/2100RT - 2500 rpm] [2500RT 2300 rpm]) 205-215 bar (2975-3125 psi)
IMPORTANT: This procedure requires two people.
1. Remove any attachments from the attachment hitch and lower the lift arm to the ground. 2. Run the machine until the hydraulic oil reaches operating temperature (approximately 60°C/ 140°F). 3. Use the hand throttle to set engine speed to low idle (1000 rpm).
CAUTION A pressure gauge with a minimum of 414 bar (6000 psi) is required. Damage may result to gauges if they are of insufficient capacity.
9. Raise the ROPS/FOPS according to “Raising ROPS/FOPS” on page 140. 10. Remove the pressure gauge and reinstall the metal cap on the test port.
