Travel Drive Motors

NOTE: For additional motor serivce information, refer to “Hydraulic Motor Service” starting on page281.

The travel drive motors (Fig. 491) are basically the same on all machines but have different displacements.

Drive Motor High Speed Adjustment

Model 1750RT (Serial Numbers 30871 and Up), Model 2100RT (Serial Numbers 40421 and Up), Model 2500RT (All Serial Numbers)

Adjust drive maximum motor speed according to “Straight Tracking Adjust” on page61.

Model 1750RT (Serial Numbers 30870 and before), Model 2100RT (Serial Numbers 40420 and before)

Drive motor maximum speed adjustments are performed at the hydrostatic pump.

IMPORTANT: Determine which side needs adjusting: If the machine turns right when traveling FORWARD, the left side speed must be reduced and vice-versa. DO NOT attempt to increase the speed of either side, or damage to the pump may occur.

Forward high speed is adjusted on the right side of the pump (Fig. 492):

Drive Motor Idle Speed

Check for proper drive motor speed function while in the low-speed range at high idle. Drive motor speeds should be:

Forward:

•Model 1750RT : 88 - 92 rpm

•Model 2100RT : 101 - 105 rpm

•Model 2500RT : 101-105 rpm

Reverse:

•Model 1750RT : 70-74 rpm

•Model 2100RT : 80-84 rpm

•Model 2500RT : 80-84 rpm

NOTE: Motors on both sides should be within 1 rpm of each other.

•Right drive motor forward adjustment: Tighten screw (A) to decrease right drive motor forward speed.

•Left drive motor forward adjustment: Tighten screw (B) to decrease left drive motor forward speed.

Reverse high speed is adjusted on the left side of the pump (Fig. 493):

•Left drive motor reverse adjustment: Tighten screw (C) to decrease left drive motor reverse speed.

•Right drive motor reverse adjustment: Tighten screw (D) to decrease right drive motor reverse speed.
