REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS Exhaust Manifold Removal 1. To support the exhaust manifold during removal, insert two long guide studs (of the same thread as the manifold bolts, M12 x 1.75) into previously removed exhaust manifold bolt holes (fourth back from the front on the bottom and second back from the front on the top), as shown in Figure 115. 115
The exhaust manifold is a very heavy casting. To prevent personal injury, acquire assistance to help remove the manifold. 4. Remove the supporting guide studs and exhaust manifold gaskets from the cylinder heads. 117

5. Discard gaskets.
