REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS

ENGINE DISASSEMBLY General

This section includes step-by-step procedures for complete disassembly of the MackPower™ M-E7 marine engine after removal from the vessel. Major components are removed as assemblies and then overhauled later.

Failure to follow the sequence of operations listed below may result in damage to components or personal injury.

Injection Pump Shutdown Solenoid Removal

To remove the injection pump shutdown solenoid:

1.Loosen and remove the nut attaching the solenoid ball stud to the injection pump lever.

2.Disconnect the electrical connection from the engine harness.

3.Remove the four nuts connecting the shutdown solenoid assembly to its retaining bracket.

Starter Motor Removal

To remove the starter motor:

1.Disconnect the electrical wire and cable connections between the starter magnetic relay and the starter motor.

2.Remove the bolts securing the starter motor to the flywheel housing.

3.Remove the starter motor from the flywheel housing.
