REPAIR AND ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES To complete the second step (resetting the low idle speed): 1. Depress and hold the accelerator pedal until the desired engine speed is achieved. 2. Press and release the SET switch. 3. While still at the desired engine speed, depress the clutch pedal and V-MAC II will “lock in” the desired speed as the new low idle speed.
It is recommended that the low idle speed be set to a speed greater than 500 rpm to allow for detection of a drop when resetting the idle.

If the idle speed does not drop to 500 rpm after meeting the requirements listed, there may be other possible problems which will not allow the idle to be reset. Refer to the Switch Circuit Diagnostics section for switch troubleshooting procedures.
