Smooth, Wave Profile, Serrated and Rubber-Coated Jaw Faces
2702 Series grip faces are designed to provide the best gripping for Instron’s 2710/2712 Series and 2710-100/-200 Series side action grips. Various surfaces are available to suit a wide range of specimen characteristics.
Principle of Operation The faces are available in a range of sizes and surfaces to accommodate most specimen sizes and materials. The serrated faces have 25 teeth per inch for clamping plastics and soft materials. The smooth versions are used for thin sheets, films, foils, paper and tapes. Rubber-coated are used for threads, fabrics and plastic tapes. Line-contact, high friction compound and wave profile faces are also available for specialised applications.
