SPHERICAL TENSION RODS AND ALIGNMENT COUPLINGS FOR STATIC HYDRAULIC TESTING MACHINES

The WGTA provides a spherical tension rod to Instron IPG test machines between 1000 kN and 1500 kN capacity that feature open front grips. It provides the same test accessory connection as the USTA, but instead of the spherical seat being incorporated into the threaded sleeve, it is contained inside a wedge block. This device replaces the jaw carriers and is retained inside the grip body using the same jaw cover plates. Unlike a device gripped in the jaws that could fall out when grip pressure is removed, the WGTA will remain in the grip body with or without grip presure until deliberately removed.
