MICROELECTRONICS TRANSLATION STAGES AND CLAMPS

Translation stages provide the ability to precisely position and align a test specimen below the actuator. The PCB clamping stage provides a rigid clamping base for the testing of microelectronic circuit boards and components. The clamping stage may be attached directly to the test machine base or to a translation stage.

Principle of Operation

Theta (rotary angle) and XY translation stages are available which are adjustable via digital micrometers. The translation stage axes are arranged with the angle stage at the base with the XY stage on top, allowing the test platform to be oriented with the XY axes referenced to the specimen.

Microelectronics Tensile Grips

Instron® offers a variety of tensile grips suitable for performing tensile tests on a wide range of microelectronic components and assemblies including leads, wires and irregularly shaped products.

Principle of Operation

Pneumatically operated grips provide controllable and repeatable gripping for a variety of tensile gripping requirements. In addition, footswitch actuation means that the operator’s hands are free for accurate specimen placement. Mechanical stud pull grips incorporate two self-aligning couplings to ensure optimum alignment.

Microelectronics Fixtures

A range of interchangeable jaw faces, holders and options are available to fit tensile grips for microelectronics.

Principle of Operation

Jaw faces are available with a variety of surfaces to provide optimum gripping for the widest range of specimens. Smooth, serrated and interlocking jaw faces can be used on the pneumatic versa grips. A range of studs is available for the stud pull fixture.
