Accessory Mounting Holes

Some accessories, such as environmental chambers, furnaces and certain larger extensometers, are designed to be mounted to the machine base. The majority of Instron® systems have 4 × M10 threaded mounting holes placed centrally at a spacing of 90 mm × 280 mm for attaching such accessories. Some earlier systems used a 1/2-inch thread rather than M10 for the bolt holes. Please check your system documentation.

Electrical, Electronic and Software Compatibility

The majority of accessories that interface to electronic controllers or electrical systems of the load frame are designed for specific models. Compatibility will be clearly shown in the catalog or any supplementary datasheet. In some cases it is necessary to ensure that the system has a certain revision of firmware — an upgrade may be required.
