MECHANICAL WEDGE ACTION GRIP JAW FACES

2703 Series grip faces are designed to provide the best possible gripping for Instron® wedge action grips. Various surfaces are available to suit a wide range of specimen characteristics including flat serrated, vee-serrated, threaded and Surfalloy™ coated.

Principle of Operation

The faces are available in a range of sizes to accommodate most specimen sizes and material types. The 16 teeth per inch serrations are preferable for use with most metal, since they provide greater penetration into the specimen and have longer wear. The 25 teeth per inch serrations are ideal for small diameter, thin, very hard or penetration-sensitive materials. Some faces are also available with SurfAlloy coatings.
