8 Hitching/unhitching the machine 8.1
Hitching the machine Danger! When hitching the machine to the tractor, there is a risk of injury. – No person is permitted between the tractor and the machine. Any work under the chocked up swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. – Only use suitable supports or chocks. – see Prop stand, page 10. Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. – Switch off the engine. – Remove the ignition key.
Proceed as follows to hitch the machine:
• Attach the machine to the tractor – see Attaching to the bottom links, page 30.
• Mount the universal drive shaft – see Mounting the universal drive shaft, page 30.
• Raise the prop stand – see Prop stand, page 33. • Connect the hydraulic hoses – see Connecting the hydraulics, page 34.
• Connect the electrical supply – see Connecting the electrical system, page 35.
• Connect the Terminal/CLAAS Communicator – see Connecting ISOBUS Terminal, page 38.
• Mount the control panel to the holder in the cab – see Installing the operating terminal, page 38.
• Connect the brake lines – see Connecting the pneumatic brake system, page 36 or Connecting the hydraulic brake system, page 36.
• Open the shut-off valve of the rear rotors – see Opening the shut-off valve for the rear rotors (only applies up to Serial No. 60501857), page 35.
• Release the hand brake – see Parking brake, page 37.
• Stow the wheel chocks in their holders – see Wheel chocks, page 37.
