Adjusting the working width (rotor overlap)

The working width of the swather can be adjusted by means of the front rotors. If the working width is increased, the overlap between the front and rear rotors is reduced, and if the working width is reduced, the overlap is increased.

Caution!

Do not adjust to less than the minimum working width –see Minimum working width, page125.

Note!

The newly adjusted working width is stored. After automatic approach of the working position from the transport position, the max. working width is reset. A smaller working width must be adjusted again. Adjustment of the working width is only possible in the working and headland positions. These adjustments can also be made while working.

Increase working width

Press the key to increase the working width.

• Hold the key down until the required position is reached. – The front outriggers are extended. – The indicator light(1) blinks.

73700 23 Reduce working width

Press the key to reduce the working width.

• Hold the key down until the required position is reached. – The front outriggers are retracted. – The indicator light(1) blinks. Always keep the overlap large enough for the crop to be completely collected even when turning. (Fig.21,22,23)

Lifting/lowering the rotors at the headland Raising the rotors

• Press the key briefly. – The control unit first raises the front rotors, and then the rear rotors. The delay depends on the adjusted delay time –see Adjusting the headland position, page104. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the headland position is reached.

(Fig.24,25)

Note!

If the key is pressed again before the headland position is reached, the rotors are lowered to the working position immediately.

26 Lowering the rotors

• Press the key briefly. – The control unit now lowers the front rotors to the working position, and then the rear rotors. The delay depends on the adjusted delay time –see Adjusting the headland position, page104. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the working position is reached.

The operator can switch between the two functions as desired without reaching the full headland height or working position.

(Fig.24,26)

Note!

If the key is pressed again before the working position is reached, the rotors are raised to the headland position immediately.

Note!

It is not necessary for the PTO shaft to be disengaged at the headland.

73701 27 Working with the rear rotors

When working narrow or tight areas, it is possible to use only the rear rotors. Starting position: all rotors raised to the headland

position

Lowering the rotors

• First, briefly press the key. – The control unit now lowers the front rotors to the working position, and then the rear rotors. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the working position is reached.

Leaving the front rotors raised

• Then press this key. – The front rotors remain in the raised position. – The rear rotors are lowered to the working position.

To cancel this setting, either

Raise the rear rotors

• First, briefly press the key. – The rear rotors are raised to the headland position. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the headland position is reached.

or

Lower the front rotors

• Press the key briefly. – The front rotors are lowered to the working position. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the working position is reached. (Fig.27,28,29)

Starting position: Rotors lowered to the working

position

Raise the front rotors

• Hold the key down until the required position is reached. – The indicator light(1) blinks until the required position is reached.

(Fig.28,30)

30 Note!

The raising height is limited to the maximum headland height here.
