14.1 General faults

Problem Remedy

When this key is pressed, the front outriggers do not extend.

Subsequently, the key is inoperative. (only swather with control terminal) • Replace the angle encoder –see Angle encoders, page166. • Check the wiring harness/connectors. • Readjust the default (basic) settings.

Running gear cannot be raised or lowered • Release the brake

• Check running gear sensor setting; replace if necessary. • Switch on hydraulic system. • Move control lever in the other direction. • Check hydraulic connections.

After switch-on and operating the control lever, the rear rotors are lowered.

• Move control lever in the other direction. • Check hydraulic connections. • Fit non-return valve, if necessary. Control unit keeps on switching off. • Install upgraded socket (have installed) –see Electrical system, page22.

The rear rotors are only lowered on one side, and very slowly.

The rotors are not raised to the transport position automatically. (only swather with ISOBUS Terminal) • Measure voltage at solenoid (at rear). Minimum value >9 volts.

Replace solenoid, if necessary. • Install upgraded socket (have installed) –see Electrical system, page22. • Open shut-off valves on main frame –see Opening the shut-off valve for the rear rotors (only applies up to Serial No. 60501857), page35. • Disengage the PTO shaft.

Possible cause

– Defective front angle encoder. – Broken connecting cable.

– Service brake actuated. – Parking brake actuated. – Defective running gear sensor.

– No hydraulic oil pressure. – Incorrect direction of oil flow.

– Incorrect direction of oil flow.

– Insufficient electrical power.

– Only one solenoid of the rear cylinder has power.

– Excessive voltage drop at the tractor socket.

Problem Remedy

Although the PTO is engaged, the rotors are automatically raised to the transport position. (only swather with ISOBUS Terminal) • Check/adjust the speed sensor. • Replace the speed sensor. • Check the wiring harness/connectors.

When changing from transport to working position, the outrigger is extended, the operation stops, the hydraulic system is working against an excess pressure. • Readjust the reed switch. • Replace the reed switch. • Check the wiring harness/connectors.

When initializing the default (basic) settings, the rotors are not raised fully to the transport position. • Use a tractor with a higher oil supply.

Possible cause

– Defective speed sensor. – Broken connecting cable. – Incorrect settings –see Adjustment work, page164. – The reed switch is not being actuated –see Adjustment work, page164. – Broken connecting cable. – Defective reed switch. – Incorrect settings –see Adjustment work, page164. – The tractor cannot supply enough hydraulic oil.
