Danger!

Any work under the chocked up swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. – Only use suitable supports or chocks.

In case of excessive wear in spite of correct tyre pressure, the toe-in of the road wheels must be checked. Toe-in(X) (measured at the wheel rims) should be 0-10mm.

Checking toe-in

Proceed as follows to check toe-in: • Lower the rotors into the working position –see Transport position with ISOBUS Terminal, page50 and/or Transport position with operating terminal, page53. • Use a tape measure to determine the rear distance(X1) between the left and right wheel rims. • Repeat the measurement for the front distance(X2) between the rims.

Caution!

To measure the distance(X2), the tape measure must be passed between the mounting bracket of the brake cylinder and the actuating rod. • Determine the difference(X) between the front and rear measurements: X = X1-X2 • Toe-in(X) is correct, if the front distance(X2) is between 0and10mm less than the rear distance(X1). • If necessary, adjust the toe-in by inserting shims. 49 Adjusting toe-in

Proceed as follows to adjust the toe-in: • Chock up the machine and secure it. • Loosen the stub axle clamps(2). • Insert 2 shims(1) per side between the undercarriage frame and the stub axle on the inner side. • Allow shims to project 5to10mm. • Tighten the stub axle clamps(2). • Measure the toe-in again.

Note!

Rule of thumb for required shims: For a measured toe-out (toe-out= X1 less thanX2) 0 to 12mm = 2mm shims (4x) 12 to 17mm = 4mm shims (4x)

Order no.: 2mm shim 0494163.0 4 mm shim 0494170.0 (Fig.48,49)
