8.1 Hitching the machine
Danger!
When hitching the machine to the tractor, there is a risk of injury. – No person is permitted between the tractor and the machine. Any work under the chocked up swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. – Only use suitable supports or chocks. – see Prop stand, page10. Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. – Switch off the engine. – Remove the ignition key.
Proceed as follows to hitch the machine: • Attach the machine to the tractor –see Attaching to the bottom links, page30. • Mount the universal drive shaft –see Mounting the universal drive shaft, page30. • Raise the prop stand –see Prop stand, page33. • Connect the hydraulic hoses –see Connecting the hydraulics, page34. • Connect the electrical supply –see Connecting the electrical system, page35. • Connect the Terminal/CLAAS Communicator –see Connecting ISOBUS Terminal, page38. • Mount the control panel to the holder in the cab –see Installing the operating terminal, page38. • Connect the brake lines –see Connecting the pneumatic brake system, page36 or Connecting the hydraulic brake system, page36. • Open the shut-off valve of the rear rotors –see Opening the shut-off valve for the rear rotors (only applies up to Serial No. 60501857), page35. • Release the hand brake –see Parking brake, page37. • Stow the wheel chocks in their holders –see Wheel chocks, page37.
