6.2 Hitching/adapting the swather

Danger!

When hitching the machine to the tractor, there is a risk of injury. – No person is permitted between the tractor and the machine. Any work under the raised swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. – Chock up the machine securely, – also see Prop stand, page10. Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. – Switch off the engine. – Remove the ignition key.

1. Check the scope of delivery against the delivery note. 2. Assemble the machine according to the separate instructions. 3. Make any necessary adaptations to the tractor –see Adapting the tractor, page22. 4. Install the holder for the control unit in the tractor cab so it can be operated without difficulty during field work. 5. Adapt the swather's hydraulic system to the tractor hydraulics –see Adapting the hydraulics, page26. 6. Hitch the swather to the tractor –see Hitching the machine, page29. 7. Fit the universal drive shaft (see Mounting the universal drive shaft, page30), and adapt its length, if necessary (see Adapting the universal drive shaft, page25).
