6 Work to be done before first operation 6.2 Hitching/adapting the swather

Hitching/adapting the swather Danger! When hitching the machine to the tractor, there is a risk of injury. – No person is permitted between the tractor and the machine. Any work under the raised swather may only be carried out if the machine has been properly secured. – Chock up the machine securely, – also see Prop stand, page 10. Work on the machine may only be carried out with the drive disengaged and the engine switched off. – Switch off the engine. – Remove the ignition key.
1. Check the scope of delivery against the delivery note. 2. Assemble the machine according to the separate instructions. 3. Make any necessary adaptations to the tractor – see Adapting the tractor, page 22. 4. Install the holder for the control unit in the tractor cab so it can be operated without difficulty during field work. 5. Adapt the swather's hydraulic system to the tractor hydraulics – see Adapting the hydraulics, page 26. 6. Hitch the swather to the tractor – see Hitching the machine, page 29. 7. Fit the universal drive shaft (see Mounting the universal drive shaft, page 30), and adapt its length, if necessary (see Adapting the universal drive shaft, page 25).
