COMPONENT OPERATION / HST Pump ・Horsepower control mechanism(YUKEN / Serial No. 1001 〜 4499) 1.This HST pump uses the horsepower control mechanism using the hydraulic power working on the rotary components. The following describes the horsepower control mechanism. 2. When the pump is rotating in the direction of the arrow the cradle receives the reaction force from the high-pressure piston side. The nine pistons are rotating and 4 or 5 pistons are at the high-pressure side. The reaction force from those pistons works on the cradle. When the pistons are rotating, the resultant reaction force of each piston works as if drawing a figure of eight (8) as shown in the figure. The mean position of the resultant force is shown as G. 3.The deviated position of G from the shaft center is shown as δ. The resultant force on G is increased with the discharging oil pressure and reduces the tilt angle of the cradle. The force that is reducing tilt angle of cradle is decided by the formula (resultant force x eccentric amount (δ)). The decrease of the cradle tilt angle indicates a decrease in the pump's discharge. It mean the horsepower control is starting
