OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE TEST / Engine
Nozzle Summary:
1. Check the injection pressure and the spray pattern with a nozzle tester.
2. Before starting the check, clean the nozzle holder mounting area to prevent contaminating the engine.
Preparation:
1. Remove the nozzle holders. Remove all nozzle holders and fuel injection pipes from the engine.
2. Attach the nozzle holder.
Attach the nozzle holder removed from the engine to the nozzle tester.
Measurement:
Never touch the spray directly. The fuel spray from the nozzle may penetrate the skin and can cause gangrene. If fuel penetrates into the blood stream, contact a doctor immediately as it may cause blood toxicosis.
1. Injection Pressure Check
After attaching the nozzle holder to the nozzle tester, strongly make several strokes of the tester to inject fuel. Then, while operating the tester at approx. 60 times a minutes, measure the fuel injection pressure. If adjustment is required, loosen the lock nut and adjust the pressure by turning the adjusting screw. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the pressure, and counterclockwise to decrease the pressure.
2. Spray Pattern Check
After attaching the nozzle holder to the nozzle tester, strongly make several strokes of the tester to check the spray pattern. For this test, avoid using the pressure gauge.
Use only clean diesel oil.
