(2)Lack of oil in reduction gear box or its deterioration

Remove the reduction gear box level plug ① to check for the oil level. Also sample the oil by removing the drain plug ② and check it for contamination, emulsi fication (entry of water) and viscosity.

Lack of oil or deterioration

Refill the reduction gear box to the specified level or change oil.

(For specified oil, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual.)

Oil level too high

Normal

If the oil level is excessive, remove the drain plug ② to reduce oil to the specified level. Then, operate the machine to check whether the oil level rises again.

Oil level too high

Hydraulic fluid is leaking into the reduction gear box due to faulty HST motor rear oil seal ③ or faulty brake piston O-ring ④.

Perform repair immediately if the HST motor rear oil seal is fau lty. Operating the machine with a faulty rear oil seal leads to significant reduction of hy draulic fluid and ultimately to serious accidents possibly resulting from seizure and sticking-u p of the HST pump and motor, dragging brakes, seizure and premature wear of brake disk s.

Improper angle of propeller shaft

Excessive play in the spline coupling ② of propeller shaft or worn and damaged universal joint ①

Visually check that the universal joint ① is mounted at a correct angle.

Remove the propeller shaft assembly and check the spline coupling ② for excessive play, or check the universal joint ① for wear and damage.

Incorrect angle

Correct angle.

Replace faulty parts.
