Ｂ-2. Parking brake does not function

（１）Parking brake does not function both when the engine is stopp ed and when it is running.

Worn or damaged brake disks ① and plates ②。

Refer to 1-B （５） brake functions when the engine is stopped but does n ot when the engine is running even with the parking brake switch in the "ON" position.

Faulty parking brake solenoid valve, parking switch and/ or relay

If the parking brake does not function at all with the engine ru nning and the parking brake switch in the "ON" position, the following defects may be the cause.

1. If the parking solenoid is energized under the above-mentione d condition, faulty switch, relay or harness may be the cause.

2. The parking solenoid valve is stuck in the released condition

Caution: If both the conditions in items 1 and 2 above are normal, the parking brake oil pressure measured at the location shown in illustration on the right should be 0 kgf/cm 2.

Repair or replace faulty parts.
