OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE TEST /System performance

Service Brake Capacity

Summary:

1. Overall performance of the service brake is checked.

2. The service brake capacity test is a maintenance item. Be sure to perform this test.

3. In regards to braking performance, the distance required for stoppage is specified in accordance with the regulation for special small vehicle, “Load Vehicles Act - Safety Criteria.”

Preparation:

1. Inflate all tires to equal air pressure:

Air Pressure:220 kPa(2.2 kgf/cm2)

2. Prepare a dry surface test track 50 m (164 ft) straight. Set a brake apply position along the test track.

3. Hold the empty bucket 0.4 m (1.3 ft) above the ground with the lift arm.

4. Maintain the hydraulic oil temperature at 50 ± 5 ℃ (122 ± 9°F).

Measurement:

CAUTION:Avoid measurement in reverse travel operation, as it is too dangerous.

1.Measure in the fast speed mode.

2.Start traveling the machine from the acceleration zone with the FNR shift lever in the forward position and the accelerator pedal at the full stroke. Drive the machine at 15 km/ h (9.3 mph).

3. Step on the right (service) brake pedal at the brake apply position.

4.After the machine stops, measure the distance from the brake apply position to the front tire ground contact position.

5.Repeat measurement three times and calculate the average value.

Evaluation: Refer to the Performance Standard Table

Remedy: Refer to Troubleshooting
