TROUBLESHOOTING /SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

B-1. Poor braking

(2)Air in brake system

Depress the brake pedal and check whether it feels spongy. Spongy

Not

Bleed the brake system.

(3)Faulty master cylinder

Check that the pedal stops when the brake p edal is depressed.

If there is internal leakage in the master cylinder, the pedal d oes not stop if the pedal is depressed strongly.

Causes of internal leakage in the master cylinder are:

① Worn or damaged cup ①

② Worn or damaged bore surface of cylinder

Caution: If the cup ② is faulty, fluid will leak externally.

There is internal leakage.

Repair or replace the master cylinder.

There is no internal leakage.

B-1. Poor braking

(4)Abnormal noise during braking.

Deterioration of brake and reduction gear fluid, use of im proper fluid

Deterioration of brake and reduction gear fluid, use of improper fluid

Check the brake and reduction gear fluid. As the brakes of this machine are of a wet, built-in type, use of a deteriorated or non-recommended fluid (of different viscosity) in the brake s ystem and reduction gear causes poor braking, abnormal noise and abnormal wear of compone nts.

Deterioration of fluid, mix-ture with water, use of non-recommended Change fluid

Reduction gear fluid smells a burn

(5)Worn or damaged of brake disks and plates

Worn or damaged of brake disks ① and plates ②, or damaged to rubbing surface of brake piston Service limit

Replace faulty parts.

Caution: Abnormal or premature wear of brake disks ① and plates ② may be caused by dragging brakes.
