Maintenance and service work 3.12 Diesel engine lubrication system Important safety instructions for working on the lube oil system Danger! In order to avoid danger of injury, do not perform work on a running diesel engine! • No smoking, no naked flames! • Caution when handling hot lube oil. Danger of burns! • Ensure utmost cleanliness when working on the lube oil system. Carefully clean the area around the components affected! • Follow the safety instructions and country-specific regulations when handling lube oil! • Dispose of drained lube oil correctly. Do not allow used lube oil to seep into the ground! • Perform a test run every time work has been performed! • Check for leaks and correct lube oil pressure, and then check the lube oil level in the diesel engine!

☞ Check the engine oil level as follows: • • • • • • • •
Park the telehandler on level ground Lower the telescopic boom to the ground Stop the diesel engine and remove the key Apply the parking brake Open the engine cover Pull out oil dipstick A and wipe it with a lint-free cloth Push in the oil dipstick as far as possible, pull it back out and read off the oil level However if necessary, fill up the oil at the latest when the oil reaches the MIN mark on the oil dipstick A
