Specific safety instructions regarding the hydraulic system
Danger!
Danger of burns! Do not perform maintenance work on a hot diesel engine and hydraulic system! ☞ Wait at least 10 minutes after stopping the diesel engine until the hydraulic system has cooled down ☞ Wear protective gloves and clothing during maintenance work
• Release the pressure in all lines carrying hydraulic oil prior to any maintenance and repair work. To do this: •Lower all hydraulically controlled attachments to the ground, stop the diesel engine and switch off ignition •Use the parking brake to park the machine safely and to prevent it from rolling away •Move all control levers of the hydraulic control valves several times •Lower the telescopic boom if it is raised •Wear protective clothes during maintenance work • If the hydraulic oil in the sight glass is cloudy, this indicates that water or air has penetrated the hydraulic system. This can cause damage to the hydraulic pump! •Have the hydraulic oil replaced by an authorised workshop
Caution!
Contaminated hydraulic oil, lack of oil or wrong hydraulic oil carries a danger of severe damage to the hydraulic system! ☞ Observe the following instructions: •Take care to avoid contamination when working! •Always fill up hydraulic oil in time using the filling screen •Only use authorised oils of the same type –see Fluids and lubricants on page3-4 •If the hydraulic system is filled with biodegradable oil, then only use biodegradable oil of the same type for filling up – observe the sticker on the hydraulic oil tank •Have the hydraulic oil replaced by an authorised workshop only –see Maintenance plan (overview) on page3-5
