3.6 Safety strut for telescopic boom

Mounting the safety strut onto the lift ram

The safety strut is located at the front left on the machine frame.

Danger!

Do not perform assembly and maintenance work if the telescopic boom is raised and not secured, otherwise there is a danger of crushing and injury! ☞ Before performing maintenance work, mount safety strut A supplied with the machine onto the extended lift ram and secure it with pin B (or screw) (see Fig.33)

☞ Mount the safety strut on the lift ram as follows: •Park the machine on firm and level ground •Empty the attachment (bucket) •Dump in the attachment •Retract the telescopic boom •Raise the telescopic boom •Take the safety strut from its storage place •Mount the safety strut over the piston rod of the extended lift ram (see Fig.33) •Secure the safety strut with pin B (or screw)

Notice!

Before putting the machine into operation, remove the safety strut from the lift ram and fasten it in its storage place again (front left machine frame)!
