1.10Avoiding running the engine under low-load conditions

Caution!

The running performance of the engine can be negatively affected if it runs at idling speed or high speed and at less than 20 % of the load. ☞ Effects: • Operating temperature is not reached • Increased lube oil consumption • Lube oil in exhaust system, and therefore diesel engine contamination • Blue smoke in exhaust ☞ We recommend running the diesel engine at loads of over 20 % during regular operation

3 Caution!

In order to avoid heat accumulation and damage to the exhaust gas turbocharger, do not stop the diesel engine from full throttle! ☞ Let the diesel engine run at idling speed for about 2 minutes and then switch it off

☞ Proceed as follows: •Apply the parking brake to the last notch •Turn the ignition key (preheating start switch) to position “0” and remove the ignition key
