Section 3. Systems Overview Wire Guidance Setup Procedure
c. Press and release the horn button 3 times. Each time you press the button, an additional Battery Indicator LED lights. d. Wait for the Battery Indicator LEDs to turn OFF. e. Press and release the horn button 5 more times. f. Wait for the Battery Indicator LEDs to turn OFF. 6. Wait for the center steering indicator LED to start flashing. (The LED should start flashing in approximately 8 seconds.) 7. Step on the deadman pedal and wait for the drive unit to center. Move the steer tiller in both directions, until the second LED stops blinking and the Battery Indicator LEDs turn ON.
NOTE: Separate steer center position settings are learned for tractor-first and forks-first travel. The settings are stored at every change in travel direction. Turning the auto/manual switch from Auto to Manual does not interrupt the settings. 11. Continue to drive the lift truck until acceptable performance is obtained traveling in both directions. NOTE: Typically, several hundred feet of travel are necessary for the final setting at speeds greater than 1 mph (1.6 km/h). 12. Turn the key switch to OFF to complete the procedure.
8. Set the auto/manual switch to Auto. 9. While guiding on the wire, drive tractor-first for at least 20 feet (6.1 m) and coast to a stop, then drive forks-first in the reverse direction and coast to a stop. NOTE: Do not apply the brake at any time during this procedure. 10. If the steering is misaligned, the lift truck may brake to a stop before traveling the full 20 ft. (6.1 m). If this happens, re-run this procedure starting at step 1. NOTE: The lift truck may require several attempts to learn the steer center position before the lift truck travels the full 20 ft. (6.1 m) without “falling off the wire.” NOTE: The lift truck adjusts the steer center position setting every 20 ft. (6.1 m) to further refine the setting. Initially, the lift truck may exhibit a slow-down condition until it acquires the final steer center position setting.
