Mast Section Carriage with Three-Stage Mast
Inspection
1.Remove the operator compartment console cover and tractor cover.
2.Lift the operator platform just high enough to have the chain anchor/pivot rocker visible through the opening under the operator control panel.

3.Place blocking under the operator’s platform. Lower the platform on the support.
4.Turn the key switch OFF and disconnect the battery. Open the emergency lower valve.
The center cylinder moves down and the chains go slack. If the center cylinder does not go down far enough to slacken the chains, push down on the top of the cylinder. This allows the chain anchor to be visible for inspection. See Figure7-192.

Chains
6.Reconnect the battery connector and turn the key switch ON. Close the emergency lower valve.
7.Lift the platform slowly to take slack out of the chains and to clear the support from beneath it.
8.Remove the support and lower the platform.
9.Reinstall all covers.
5.Inspect the chain anchor and pivot rocker for wear and replace if necessary. See Figure7-193.

Inner Telescopic
Inner Telescopic
Use extreme care whenever the lift truck is jacked up. Never block the lift truck between the telescopic and the floor. Keep hands and feet clear from the vehicle while jacking the lift truck. After the lift truck is jacked, place solid blocks beneath it to support it. Do not rely on the jack alone to support the lift truck. See “Jacking Safety” on page2-8.
Removal
1.Remove the platform. See “Carriage with Three-Stage Mast” on page7-98.

2.Attach a hoist to the inner telescopic and lift 2-3 inches (50-70 mm) to remove tension from the chain.
3.Disconnect the chains from the bottom chain anchor block of each side of the telescopic. Swing the chains over each pulley. See Figure7-194.
