SUBJECT: Control Handle Fault Codes

GENERAL INFORMATION: Fault codes related to th e control handle have been reported even wh en the handle is adjusted correctly.

SERVICE INFORMA TION : New Carriage C ard P/N 1047918/002 and Steer/Tractor Manager S/W Version 2.5 ar e now available to help reduce the occurrence of Codes 18, 21, 23, and 26.

When i nstalling a new Carriage Card, the Steer/Tractor Manager S/W must be properly matched. Fault Codes 18 or 23 are displayed if you install a new card with the old software.

The new software is backward compatible with older Carriage Cards. However, Fault Code 69 will result if the hardware jumper ID in the board changes state after the power on SelfTest. Replace the Carriage Card if this code occurs.

NOTE: The new card was cut into production on truck serial number 520 -14-03473

Use Table 1 for troubleshooting control handle fault codes with the new card and software installed.
