What philanthropic contributions have you made to the Tahltan Nation? Sodexo has provided compassionate support during times of need and emergencies. In 2009, working with the TNDC, Sodexo provided bedding for those in need. In 2011 Sodexo provided breakfasts and snacks for the Dease Lake and Iskut schools, and during the fire at Telegraph Creek we provided food relief without delay.
How do you communicate contracting processes when you are looking for services providers? Sodexo do not subcontract services. Sodexo Canada believes the economic development of Indigenous communities, as well as the financial independence of Indigenous people is the responsibility of all Canadians and Canadian corporations. Our partnership with TNDC has allowed us to realize our policies and commitments.
What is your approach to including Tahltan businesses in your operations? Since 2002, Sodexo has worked collaboratively with SRS, one of TNDC’s longest and most successful commercial partnerships. In 2007, SRS became the largest regional employer with over 200 staff.
