COMPANY OVERVIEW & UPDATE

Any successes or challenges you’d like to share?

Challenges – Contractor, equipment and labour availability, and constraints on Boulder Trail usage during much of the season.

Successes – COVID-19 protocols and responsible staff and contractors resulted in zero positive rapid antigen tests all season long with at least two tests per person per rotation. (Tahltan preferred contractor provided test support), completion of updated PEA in 2021, completion of Tailings Alternatives Assessment showing selected location expected to be most favourable when considering social, environmental, technical, and economic factors, and completion of mixed hydroxide precipitate (MHP) study, looking at potential value-add opportunities.

Number of employees working on your project(s)?

Giga Metals has only a few year-round employees. During 2021 field season, there were usually between 20 and 30 workers at camp (mostly contractors).

PROJECT ACTIVITIES IN THE 2021 SEASON

Continued archaeological, wildlife and hydrological studies, 4,214 metres (9 holes) of resource drilling (NQ size) to upgrade geology model and resource classifications, 2,082 metres (6 holes) of geotechnical drilling (HQ size) with oriented core, optical televiewer hydrogeological installs for pit wall design, and 8,400 metres of seismic refraction survey for tailings storage facility design.

Where does the majority of your financing come from year to year? What’s the breakdown of who owns your company and what’s your company’s market cap?

Institutional and private investors from around the world. There are approximately 86 million shares issued and outstanding, and 109 million shares fully diluted, of which approximately 7% are controlled by management. Market cap is $33 million.

Has your company purchased or sold any other properties in Tahltan Territory during the last year?

We have acquired by staking two small carbonate claims between Turnagain and Dease Lake for potential metallurgical reagent sourcing.

Tentative plans and hopes for the 2022 season?

If 2022 financing can be secured:

• Completion of geotechnical drilling and/or test pits in support of tailings storage facility design and stockpile/waste storage design;

• Continue and/or improve environmental baseline studies;

• Collect all data required to advance to pre-feasibility study, including additional metallurgical studies; and,

• Initiate pre-feasibility study.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TCG & TAHLTAN NATION

During the 2021 season, what involvement did TCG personnel and departments have with your company? If they were not involved, why not?

Some guidance from Employment & Contracting Director, and tailings Alternative Assessment completed and shared with Lands Director.

In 2021, how many Tahltans did you employ? What positions did they hold in your company and what percentage of Tahltans did you employ compared to others?

We did not directly employ any Tahltans in 2021. Our contractors employed at least 3 Tahltans in 2021 as pad builders and core technicians. Approximately 3% of contractors who worked at Turnagain in 2021 were Tahltan.

What employment opportunities, now and in the future, are available to Tahltan members?

For the foreseeable future, most opportunities will be seasonal and at the Turnagain Project. They will include diamond drilling, heavy machinery, archeological and environmental studies, and camp services. Opportunities are expected both directly with Giga Metals, and with contractors.

Why should Tahltan members want to work for you?

Giga Metals is committed to advancing the Turnagain Project as a responsible, low-carbon source of nickel, a critical material for electric vehicles and long-lasting infrastructure. Tahltans interested in any aspect of the mining business are encouraged to contact Giga Metals about employment and contracting opportunities. As Turnagain advances, Giga Metals is committed to initiating and expanding training programs.

Did you have any Tahltan contractors working for your company? What percentage of your contracting dollars went to Tahltan companies, including TNDC and their joint ventures?

Yes, Obsidian provided camp and logistics services at Turnagain in 2021. We spent about 22% of our in-thefield contracting dollars on Obsidian.

Do you have any outside contractors working for you? If so, who are they? Who were the primary contractors you utilized? Do they offer employment opportunities to Tahltan members?

Several engineering firms and other contractors do work periodically throughout the year. Field season contractors generally include drilling, archeology and environmental contractors who often hire Tahltans.

Anything else you would like to share with the Tahltan Nation?

We have current communication and opportunities sharing agreements with the Tahltan Central Government (TCG) and we have been welcomed at many community meetings in Dease Lake, Telegraph Creek and Iskut, and have employed Tahltan wherever feasible. We have sponsored local community activities, contributed to community funds when we can, and have initiated scholarship opportunities.

We are committed to working co-operatively with the TCG to advance the project. We will continue to share relevant information as the project advances, and seek Tahltan feedback.
