Over the past four years we have worked within Tahltan Territory on sites such as Eskay Creek, Red Chris, and Silvertip. Our formal agreement with the TNDC however is brand new only beginning in January of 2022. We have witnessed firsthand the resources the TNDC has, and we are looking forward to working alongside them.

What employment and training opportunities are available to Tahltan members? How do you communicate these opportunities? What training opportunities do you provide for Tahltan members?

Training opportunities for anyone working on the

RC Crane team include:

• Crane operator certification through BC

Crane Safety; • Rigging and hoisting certificate; • A 24-hour crane operator introduction course; and, • First Aid – Working from heights.

How do you communicate contracting processes when you are looking for services providers?

Job opportunities with RC Crane include crane operator, rigger, and truck driver. When job opportunities are available, they are posted online using indeed.com and the Employment Director with the Tahltan Central Government will be notified. RC Crane has had employees from all parts of Canada. We look forward to potential candidates from Tahltan Nation applying for future job openings.

Why should Tahltan members want to work for you?

RC Crane believes that its employees are its greatest assets and investing in our employees has always been a priority. We put extra effort into doing what we can to provide a good work life balance and taking employees’ individual needs into account. To RC Crane, it’s very important that employees enjoy their time at work as much as possible and grow their skills using both on the job training and through Yukon University. In our line of work most often we do not require contractors. There are likely to be times where we could use assistance in Tahltan Territory. We will contact the TNDC or use our channels through the board of directors to prioritize Tahltan contractors where we can.

What is your approach to including Tahltan businesses in your operations?

We plan to use Tahltan businesses when we can and are very excited for the support they will be able to provide while we work in Tahltan Territory.

Anything else you would like to share with the Tahltan Nation?

We look forward to our business partnership and all it has to offer both RC Crane and the Tahltan Nation. CONTACT
