Projects for the Future City_ EAAD Tec de Monterrey QRO
The effects of climate change are globally evident, but the impacts are not distributed equally. Globally and within countries, climate change has disproportionate effects on unprivileged and marginalized groups. Climate justice focuses on how climate change impacts differently, unevenly, and disproportionately. In the Global South, this condition is more extreme and is already threatening communities and shaping their future. Therefore, as an effort to address the climate injustice with an emphasis on the Mexican and Queretaro City context, the design studio explores the sociocultural and ecopolitical dimensions of the climate crisis. Through four different topics, hydric stress, energy transition, soil, urban heat island effects, health and wellness, and inequality, the students will investigate the mosaic resulting from the climate injustices on our territory with the intention of exploring the desirable future for these communities.
