Projects for the Future City_ EAAD Tec de Monterrey QRO
The effects of climate change are globally evident, however the impacts are not distributed equally. Globally and within countries, climate change has disproportionate effects on unprivileged and marginalized groups. Climate justice, focuses on how climate change impacts differently, unevenly and disproportionately. In the context of Global South, this condition is more extreme and is already threatening communities and defining their future. Therefore, as an effort to address the climate injustice with an emphasis on the Mexican and Queretaro City context, the course with explore the sociocultural and ecopolitical dimensions of the climate crisis. Through four different topics, hydric stress, energy transition, soil, and urban heat island effects, the students will investigate the mosaic resulted of the climate injustices on our territory will the intention to explore the desirable future for this communities.
