Cycling Club Triglav Through our Club, Triglav Mounties, we have created a Triglav Mounties Cycling Club where we hold one to two events per month
I initially tabled the idea with the Triglav Mounties board members who were very supportive of the idea. We then formed the Cycling Club and started to meet monthly. The club members meet and decide on a location where it is safe to ride for most of the members and nominate a Saturday or Sunday. We tend to rotate the days to give as many people as possible the opportunity to attend. Once the starting point is decided, an invitation is sent to everyone, young and old to come and join us for a cycle ride and if you don’t have a bike you can come for a walk or run. This activity usually goes for approximately 2 hours. After the cycle or walk, everyone gets together for a chat and breakfast or just a coffee. We have started the club with approximately thirty members and hope to grow the membership in the coming months and years, with a view to encourage our younger second and third
generations Slovenian Australians to become more active with the Slovenian community. What a great way to reconnect and get to meet people they have lots in common with. Our cycling club welcomes everyone that wants to get fit and enjoys cycling. To make the club office we designed cycling jerseys which I must thank Triglav Mounties for sponsoring the jerseys, they look fantastic and I hope everyone is proud to wear them when they are riding or walking. The image attached is from the last ride the Triglav Mounties Cycling Club, this time it was the Bay cycling and walking track in Drummoyne a 6.7kms circuit, which some members went around once, twice or three times depending on the fitness levels.
