Making a positive community contribution is at the heart of Mounties’ operations. Mounties makes a substantial direct contribution to local communities through cash and in-kind donations to a broad range of community activities and initiatives and provides community access to a range of subsidised community and sporting facilities. 2019 has been a pivotal year for Mounties in terms of financial success, a re-focus on members and the way we do business in our local community. With another significant contribution to sport totalling $4.9m. More than half of that amount was spent on grass roots sports played by amateurs and provision of facilities such as sporting fields for local children. We are known for our support for all sports and all playing levels, we continue to focus supporting the many Sub Clubs that make our Club different from the rest. From the very young to the mature, it has been a focus to provide opportunities for all where possible. I would like to congratulate all Sub Clubs, their members, operational teams, trainers, coaches, the players and their supporters for all their efforts this year, I thank you for all your hard work. You should all be very proud of what you have achieved.
It’s the commitment and efforts of more than 2,500 Mounties members that participate in more than 40 Sub Clubs and the great success that Mounties enjoys in its local community. Congratulations and thanks to all who have been part of the journey over the past year. Particularly, the sports committee and the members, who have unselfishly given up their time to ensure that Mounties remains relevant in sport.
