Fishing Mounties

Over the year of the fishing season, fish caught are then weighed and respective points are allocated depending on the species. All weigh-ins are done back at shore by the trip captains. The trip captains are volunteers making sure all club trips run smoothly and all points recorded.

The members of the Mounties Fishing Club would like to thank all trip captains for their contributions over the year. Congratulations to the following champions showing that their fishing skills excel in getting such a high achievement:

A special mention to Rifet Hadzic in continuing to keep reign of the Club Championship title. A big thank you to Bill Razmovski with after 22 years he has retired as Club Captain, he has placed a large amount of his time organizing people and trips and helping to create the memories we still talk about today. With some very large shoes to fill we welcome Neil Joseph as the Club Captain with Nino Cucchiaro as Assistant Club Captain. Ranking points are calculated using 8 of the best scores over the course of 12 months, commitment in attending fishing trips every month is key in achieving high scores. Congratulations to all who attended fishing trips, even though you may not be in the top 10 you have contributed in making the Mounties Fishing Club one of the best.

The 2019 – 2020 Fishing season in now underway, we have had a good start to the year giving us reasonable sea conditions and already some visits from Whales, Dolphins and Seals with some good catches or Snapper and Morwong. As we start to move into the warmer months, we should see the fish start head back to our warmer waters and we should see some good catches! Mounties Fishing Club Hold 3 trips each month leaving from Kiama and Wollongong Harbours. Allowing many opportunities to drop in a line and see what’s down below and enjoy a nice day on the water. Enjoy the company of the other members, where you can share skills and talk about the one that got away. Trips for members cost $60 for adults and $25 for juniors. Monthly meetings are on the last Wednesday of the month at 8pm at the Mounties club at Mount Prichard. New members are always welcomed to join in with Fishing Club membership at a low $6. Woman and Juniors are urged to give it a go.
