Wanderers Football Mounties
Well another season has passed. At the blink of an eye the competition is over. The past 46 weeks have been very stressful for the team & staff. Commencing back in October 2018 in preparation for the 2019 season. We have had a few player changes & also new Coaching staff.
Last season our 1st grade side was beaten on penalties in the Grand Final so this year the pressure was really on the 20-man squad. The club had built up player wise in the three grades & that was a challenge getting the right mix for the club. After a long pre-season our 1st Grade coach Brian Brown was happy going into the 1st round of the competition with the players picked. A two player change mid-season made a huge difference with our 1st grade side running fourth in the competition. Our under 20 side finished seventh and the under 18 side finished fifth. All in all, not a bad season. Our youth league sides were adventurous in their playing style this season & unfortunately did not get the rewards for their hard work & training. It was great however to have some Mounties junior players signed in our youth league & SAP squads. Every player enjoyed the opportunity to reach another level. The season trials for 2020 have commenced & we encourage our Mounties Juniors to attend & show their skills.
