Women’s Bowling Harbord Diggers We have been playing bowls at Manly Bowling Club (known as "Diggers on the Park") since February 2016 during the re-building of Harbord Diggers.
Stage 1 is completed, and completion of Stage 2 is well under way - this includes our bowling green. We believe we'll be back "home" early 2020. We are very excited and looking forward to welcoming new members. We are a very friendly club and, apart from enjoying the game of bowls, we support and care about each other. We entered a Grade 4 Pennants team and, whilst not winners, thoroughly enjoyed competing and catching up with members of other clubs within the Manly-Warringah District. Our club organises theatre parties and we are pleased that some of the Manly ladies join us Since our last report we have enjoyed "Jersey Boys", "Saturday Night Fever" and "Chicago". A big thank you to our much-loved Patron, Betty Campbell for her wonderful support and her sponsorship of the Patron's Trophy. Our thanks to Jenny McNevin, Leon Hansen, Phil Brannigan and Michael Phillips for their support and to Karen and the courteous staff at The Diggers. Thank you also to our terrific bus drivers who transport us to and from Diggers to Manly each Tuesday and Thursday. Bowls is a sport for all ages with many advantages: it suits people with varying degrees of fitness and sporting ability and, being an outdoor sport, is a healthy activity. A great opportunity to meet new people and form friendships.
