Welcome to the Neighborhood

Allandale provides the convenience of a suburban lifestyle with easy access to all things Austin! Centrally located near Mopac between Anderson Lane and Hancock Drive, Allandale offers a mix of mid-20th century homes and traditional ranch style homes. The quiet, family-friendly neighborhood features beautiful tree-lined streets, a nearby park, and Shoal Creek.

History

The area was originally part of a land grant awarded to George W. Davis in 1841 by the President of the Republic of Texas for his service in the Battle of San Jacinto. Today the Davis family cemetery is a historical mark still represented in Allandale. An active neighborhood association in Allandale is one of the largest in Austin. It continually works to preserve property values as it represents the neighborhood in zoning proposals.

School Districts

Children in Allandale attend many nearby schools including Highland Park and Gullet Elementary Schools, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School.

Shopping and dining opportunities are prevalent near Allandale. Residents enjoy The Peached Tortilla’s Asian and Southern fusion, chicken wings at Tumble 22, Mediterranean fare at Noori’s Grill, and American dining at Revelry on the Boulevard just to name a few. Allandale has something for everyone.

Maintained beauty is all around. Residents enjoy walking on the trails in Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park which spans 31 acres and contains baseball fields, a basketball court, picnic tables, and playgrounds. In addition, visitors enjoy a fishing pier, tennis courts, and an Olympic sized swimming pool.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Nestled in a master-planned community in Southwest Austin is Avana. It is an area that is continuing to grow since development began in 2011. Esquel was the first section to be built in Avana followed by Lantana.

These sections offer energy efficient, luxury homes, many of which feature Austin limestone. Maravilla, Valencia, and Alviso are sections that followed featuring upscale homes on larger lots.

Community

In addition to neighborhood amenities, Avana is close to Circle C Metropolitan Park, Slaughter Creek Trail, the Veloway, and Grey Rock Golf Club.

Right off of Highway 45, residents have easy access to Mopac to head into town, 1626 to travel toward Buda, and 1826 to head to Dripping Springs.

With Escarpment Blvd as its main access point off Highway 45, heading into the center of Circle C and to the Circle C Village for shops and eateries is only minutes away.

Children in Avana attend the new Bear Creek Elementary School which opened its doors for classes beginning September 2020.

In addition, most students move on to Gorzycki Middle School and Bowie High School. Avana is a family-friendly area with lots to offer.

Now a part of Circle C Ranch, Avana residents have access to all the same amenities as their neighbors in other parts of Circle C, though it has plenty of parks, pools, and trails within its own neighborhood borders.

In Northwest Austin, lies a popular neighborhood called Avery Ranch. Rich in history, Avery Ranch is a master-planned community that began development in 2000. It is one of the larger Austin communities with over 4,000 homes situated on 1800 acres of hill country land.

Avery Ranch features an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, numerous pools, parks, playgrounds, and trails. The Avery Ranch Golf Course is a highlight of the community, featuring hill country views at every turn.

School Districts

For those looking for a more established neighborhood, Barton Creek is one of the largest of these communities on the west side of Austin. Covering more than 4,000 acres, Barton Creek is nestled between the Barton Creek Habitat Preserve and the Barton Creek Wilderness Park and Barton Creek Greenbelt.

Barton Creek offers residents the ability to live in beautiful, quiet surroundings with access to downtown Austin only about 15 miles away.

With a convenient location near Capital of Texas Highway and Bee Caves Road, travel time for residents to surrounding amenities is only minutes. Nearby spots include Barton Creek Resort and Club and multiple golf courses. Popular Greenbelt locations include Twin Falls, Sculpture Falls, Campbell’s Hole, and The Flats.

With a population just over 8,000, Barton Hills is a well-established neighborhood in Travis County. You’ll find many residents outside enjoying this beautiful community’s natural scenery with its hilly, tree-lined streets. The residential area contains many homes, some dating back to the 1940s. Construction continued into the late 1990s on a variety of single-family, mid-century home designs.

Barton Hills is close to downtown Austin, just minutes away by car, bus, or even bicycle.

Belterra is one of the more recent neighborhoods built in the Austin city limits. In the southwest portion of Austin, Belterra offers a premier master-planned community covering approximately 1600 acres south of Highway 290 between Sawyer Ranch Road and Nutty Brown Road.

Amenities

Within the Belterra community, homes are offered in a wide range of sizes and styles built by some of the most prestigious home builders in Austin including Drees Custom Homes, Scott Felder Homes, and Wilshire Homes.

From garden homes to homes built for growing families, all Belterra residents enjoy a recreation center and an aquatic center. The recreation center holds a gym and is designed for community events. With a connecting playscape and basketball court, the area has something for everyone.

Bouldin Creek is a fun, eclectic Austin area. Originally developed in the early 1900s, some historic homes still remain dating back to the 1920s and 1930s. The neighborhood is diverse with many cultures and backgrounds represented. Due to gentrification and its proximity to Downtown Austin, the neighborhood has changed quite a bit over time.

Situated between Barton Springs and West Oltorf, Bouldin Creek is a part of the South First and South Congress (or SOCO) commercial areas. These areas are hot spots in Austin and feature locally run restaurants and vintage shops, some of which boast, “Keep Austin Weird.”

There is a little something for everyone in this part of town including tattoo parlors, bakeries, and art galleries. In addition to its unique and sometimes quirky destinations, the neighborhood also contains historical sites such as Green Pastures, which is a Victorian mansion and St. Anne African Methodist Episcopal Church which dates back to 1916!

Families living in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood are served by Travis Heights Elementary and Becker Elementary, as well as Fulmore Middle School and Travis High School.

The Bouldin Creek area is popular for dining, shopping, and nightlife, and it especially appeals to young couples and singles. Popular nearby locations include The Warehouse District where converted warehouses have become stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues. It is also located close to downtown, the popular hike and bike trail at Ladybird Lake, Barton Creek, and Zilker Park.

Brentwood

Welcome to the Neighborhood

A close-knit community is north central Austin is Brentwood. Established over 50 years ago, this area is home to many one-and-a-half story bungalow-style homes, some of which were purchased by returning soldiers after World War II. The result is a comfortable neighborhood were many residents have lived for decades.

History

Originally a cotton farm until the land was annexed by Austin in the 1940s, Brentwood is a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood divided by Arroyo Seco Creek.

Amenities

With close to 8,000 residents, Brentwood is a desirable neighborhood in which to live. The urban neighborhood is near many restaurants, coffee shops, and bars making it most popular with young professionals. Centrally located between Mopac and Interstate 35 makes the work commute very easy to most parts of Austin.

Brentwood Park is over nine acres of public space featuring soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a playground. Another point of interest is the Wall of Welcome. Completed in 2008, the mosaic wall is 120 feet long and reflects the community.

Schools that serve children living in the Brentwood area include Brentwood Elementary, Bryker Woods Elementary, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School.

Cherry Creek

Cherry Creek is a beautiful community in south Austin developed between 1965 and 1998. With the completion of West Gate Boulevard in 2012, the remaining sections connected.

The neighborhood features a variety of one and two-story mid-size homes that are reasonably priced in an area abundant with mature oak trees. The subdivision runs from Slaughter Ln. to Stassney Ln. between Brodie Ln. and West Gate Boulevard with a few sections just east of Manchacha Ln..

Amenities

Amenities in the area include Silk Oak Park which offers a basketball court and a large green space where families can picnic. It includes a volleyball court, picnic tables and grills, and two play areas with plenty of equipment. Other nearby parks open to residents include Mary Moore Searight Park, Garrison Park, and Dick Nichols Park.

Aside from the great outdoors, residents who live in Cherry Creek have many convenient opportunities for shopping with many retail centers along Slaughter and Brodie lanes including Shady Hollow Village and Tanglewood Village, Sunset Valley, The Shops at Arbor Trails, and Southpark Meadows.

Easy access to Mopac and Interstate 35 makes it easy for residents of this lovely suburban area to access downtown Austin within 20 minutes.

Since the subdivision covers a large part of South Austin, schools attended by students in Cherry Creek depends on the location of the home, but the most commonly attended schools for the area include Cowan Elementary, Covington Middle School, Bailey Middle School, Crockett High School, and Bowie High School.

Close to multiple restaurants and shops, entertainment venues, and the famed University of Texas campus is a unique area called Cherrywood. Once cotton fields and pastures, urban development of Cherrywood began in the 1940s.

Cherrywood is a desirable, well-established area in East Austin with gorgeous tree-lined streets. It boasts a unique variety of homes including traditional ranch style homes, bungalows, and charming cottages of various architectural designs inviting a diverse community of residents.

A sense of community exists in Cherrywood where Austinites can enjoy a yearly Cherrywood Art Fair featuring the works of local artists.

In addition, the Delwood Shopping Center hosts a Fiesta grocery store as well as other retail spots. Children living in Cherrywood are served by Maplewood Elementary. Kealing Middle School and McCallum High School both include magnet schools within the scope of their educational opportunities.

Offering a diverse community with several quality neighborhoods is Circle C Ranch in southwest Austin. The area is a master planned community that originated in 1982 and has continued to grow as land developed.

Home Styles

Many home styles are available in Circle C Ranch. With its inception, the area was built with mostly ranch style homes and traditional red brick homes. As the area grew, a new look was created with more homes constructed in limestone.

Vintage Place is a unique neighborhood in Circle C Ranch which offers homes that are designed to resemble older, traditional, Craftsman style homes. The neighborhood property values in Circle C Ranch have steadily increased over time.

School Districts

Schools have been built to accommodate the growth of the area. Four public elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school serve the various neighborhoods throughout the development.

With an active HOA, amenities in Circle C Ranch abound including Grey Rock Golf Club, a tennis club, four swim centers, and over 500 acres of dedicated park land. Local attractions include the Circle C Metro Park featuring basketball, soccer fields, playscapes and a walking trail. For longer trails, some visitors choose to bike or ride horses at Slaughter Creek Trail. In addition, the Veloway is an area park that provides 3.17-miles of paved trail designed specifically for cyclists and roller blade enthusiasts. With plenty of restaurants including Satellite Café, Waterloo Ice House, and Mangieri’s, and local shopping spots and boutiques, Circle C Ranch has grown to meet the needs of all its residents.

Circle C

Welcome to the Neighborhood

A Central Austin gem and historic district just west of downtown is the neighborhood of Clarksville. Rich in legacy, residents have worked to preserve the character of the area.

Clarksville is named for Charles Clark, a former slave who bought land and sold portions to other freed slaves in 1871. When expansion in Austin threatened the area, the Clarksville Community Development Corporation was formed to protect the community’s history.

Amenities

Located near Lady Bird Lake and extending from MoPac to North Lamar Boulevard between West 6th Street and West 15th Street, the Clarksville is a part of the Old West Austin Historic District which features historic homes and structures.

Now considered one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Austin, the quaint neighborhood is made up of Late Victorian homes, American Craftsman homes, and Bungalows interspersed with condos, and apartments on land that has steadily increased in value. It is situated just minutes from popular hot spots in Downtown Austin.

Activities

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are two neighborhood parks within walking distance as well as close proximity to Zilker Park just a few blocks south where visitors enjoy hiking and biking, volleyball, playgrounds, and acres of green space.

For residents looking for trendy venues, Clarksville offers many cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops, particularly on West Lynn where folks enjoy dining at Jeffrey’s or Cipollina.

Students in the Clarksville area are served by Casis, Barton Hills, Zilker, and Mathews Elementary Schools, O Henry Middle School, and Austin High School.

Bar Peached offers cocktails and Asian fusion dishes at its historic, remodeled bungalow restaurant. Clarksville is equal parts quiet, quaint, and quirky.

Covered Bridge

Welcome to the Neighborhood Amenities

Situated in Southwest Austin, with stunning Hill Country views, is a neighborhood called Covered Bridge. The 195-acre area was originally purchased in 1993 by Bill Schultz who bought the land for its views. Before construction began, he worked with developers to preserve the area’s natural beauty.

There are plenty of recreational opportunities and other amenities in Covered Bridge. The amenity center is open to all homeowners and guests, featuring a covered pavilion, swimming pool, and a splash pad. In addition, visitors can enjoy a playscape, community park, and walking trails.

Nearby amenities include restaurants such as Shore Raw Bar & Grill, Jack Allen’s Kitchen, and Longhorn Steakhouse. Other retail opportunities are easily reached with a short drive, as Covered Bridge is situated on Highway 71 near Highway 290 with access to Bee Caves Road and 620.

Community

The community features reasonably priced large homes dating back as far as 2002, though it has continued to develop over the years. With 2,800 square feet as the average home size, you’ll appreciate that they rest on quarter-acre lots. The original homes built by Drees Custom Homes and Wilshire Homes, as well as other Austin custom home builders, offer a variety of brick and limestone. Many of the homes have Hill Country views or greenbelt access.

The Enclave at Covered Bridge is a newer section with homes built since 2017, while Gardens of Covered Bridge offers a gated community of upscale condominiums that feature one and twostory models.

Children in the Covered Bridge subdivision attend a variety of schools including Oak Hill Elementary, Small Middle School, and Bowie High School. Additionally, there are plenty of private schools nearby including St. Michael’s Catholic Academy, Regents School, Veritas Academy, and St. Gabriel’s Catholic School.

In North-Central Austin, near Anderson Lane and Research Boulevard, is an established neighborhood called Crestview. This quiet neighborhood dating back to the 1950s boasts a laid-back atmosphere.

History

Developed in the early 1950s by A. B. Beddow, Crestview was originally the site of an old dairy farm. Through the years some deep-rooted landmarks exist near the area including Top Notch Burgers which was established in 1971. Additionally, the Wall of Welcome is a 120-foot, mosaic icon located in the heart of Crestview on Woodrow Avenue. It reflects the community and its history.

Home Styles

Many of the homes and businesses in the area maintain the outward appearance of that time period as many of the homes are smaller and more affordable than other areas of Austin featuring cottages, bungalows, and mid-century ranch style homes and apartments. Residents enjoy a mix of urban and suburban life as just beyond the neighborhood they find numerous locally-owned restaurants, coffee shops, and bars.

There are plenty of opportunities for enjoyment in and around the Crestview area. Take in a youth baseball game at North Austin Optimist, or spend the day at the nearby Brentwood Neighborhood Park. Take to the indoors and visit Terra Toys or the Galaxy Theatres. Try your hand with a bow and arrow at Archery Country or relax at Big Star Bingo. This unique area has something for everyone.

Children in Crestview attend Brentwood Elementary School, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School. Private schools such as Redeemer Lutheran School, St. Louis Catholic School, Paragon Preparatory Middle School, Capitol School of Austin, and Odyssey School are also within close proximity.

Crestview

Del Valle

Del Valle is an unincorporated suburb just 7 miles southeast of Austin, easily accessed by East Riverside Drive with about a 14-minute drive. While still in close proximity to the city happenings in Austin, homes in Del Valle are more affordable.

On average, properties in Del Valle are in the $200,000 to $300,000 range, though there are some high-priced, luxury homes available as well. There are several communities within Del Valle including Stoney Ridge, Sun Chase, and Sundance Crossing. Most new homes are built by Lennar or KB Homes.

Welcome to the Neighborhood Amenities

Numerous amenities are available to residents in Del Valle. There are eight parks in the area including Stoney Ridge Neighborhood Park. In addition, Richard Moya Park, which is near the airport, offers baseball and basketball, and Barkley Meadows Park features shaded areas near a pond.

Outdoor adventurists might enjoy NLand Surf Park where visitors can surf, windsurf, or kitesurf. NLand Brewery is at the same location, and Live Oak Brewing Company is nearby as well.

One well-known attraction in Del Valle is the Circuit of Americas, a motor racing facility that hosts many races. On the same property is the Austin360 Ampitheater, an open-air complex that is home to many concerts.

School Districts

Del Valle contains its own school district, providing education to children in the area. There are nine elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools.

Location

Given the proximity to downtown Austin, homeowners have access to everything they need. Not only does Highway 71 provide access to many restaurants, it is also a direct route right into the Austin city limits. This makes it easy for commuters who work in downtown Austin.

Austin is a large, growing city. While most new construction continues to occur southwest of downtown, East Austin is an older, more established area. Situated east of The University of Texas to Blue Bluff Rd, south to the Rainey Street Historic District, and north to Manor Road, East Austin has its own character and charm.

Many types of homes in several sizes and price ranges are available throughout East Austin. Whether you are interested in a high-rise condominium, an older home on sprawling land, or a newer master-planned community, you’ll find what you are looking for.

Young families and empty-nesters, professionals and outdoor easy-going individuals all make up the diversity that is East Austin.

The face of the area may have changed over time, but folks are still neighborly. Older establishments are mixed with food trucks and street vendors, making the area unique and desirable.

Granada Hills is an established southwest Austin neighborhood situated within FM 1826 and Highway 290. One of Austin’s first suburbs is a historic neighborhood called Hyde Park. Established in 1891, the quaint, tree-lined area is just a few blocks away from Austin’s original town site. A rural area for most of the 19th century, Hyde Park was the site for The State Fair of Texas 1875 to 1884 when it moved to Dallas. The property values began high in Hyde Park with large Victorian, estate-type homes. By the early 1900s, the area was considered more affordable for working men and women and smaller homes were constructed. Throughout the years, Hyde Park has maintained its original character and charm. It is considered an eco-friendly, animal-loving, liberal area that does its part to “Keep Austin Weird.”

North of the University of Texas, Hyde Park is situated between 38th Street and 45th Street to the north, Guadalupe Street to the west, and Duval Street to the east. The location offers optimal travel options as it lies between N Lamar Blvd and Interstate 35. As the architecture changed to more modest homes, the area was steadily built up until about 1935. Home styles depict the growth of the area over time. History

Within the Hyde Park area lies some historic sites. A GermanAmerican sculptor, Elisabet Ney, was one of the first to purchase property in the area. She built a small castle-style art studio named Formosa which is now the Elisabet Ney Museum. Shipe Park, named for Monroe Martin Shipe who helped market the area in 1891, has basketball courts, picnic tables, a playground, tennis courts, and a large neighborhood swimming pool. Other historic buildings in Hyde Park include the Col. Monroe M. Shipe House built in 1892, the Frank M. and Annie G. Covert House, and the Oliphant-Walker House.

Jester Estates is a popular Austin neighborhood north of the Colorado River that features large homes of various designs and price ranges. The Hill Country land was formerly owned by Beauford H. Jester, a veteran of WWI and the 36th governor of Texas.

Lewis Mountain Ranch is a highly desirable, peaceful area that boasts country living within the southwest part of Austin. Development in Lost Creek began in 1976, and the area was later annexed by Austin in December 2015. Named after a remote area and tributary of Barton Creek, Lost Creek is an upper-middle class area in the Westlake area that developed over a period of 30 years. Development began in the back of the 700+ acres land and continuously moved closer to Loop 360. The 1980s saw improvements in the area with the addition of a country club, sewage treatment plant, and golf course.

Amenities in the area include the Lost Creek Country Club, which is a private club containing an 18hole course. Membership provides more than golf. It includes dining, athletic facilities, and swimming as well. The Barton Creek Greenbelt borders the Lost Creek neighborhood and offers 22 acres of hiking trails, some of which lead to a waterfall and a swimming hole. The nearby Boulder Park features a sports area, picnic area, and playground. Additionally, the neighborhood’s location on Loop 360 provides easy access to nearby dining, shopping, and all parts of Austin.

A representative neighborhood Westlake, Lost Creek is a unique neighborhood, with rolling hills, and outstanding views. Homes are built on flat land, hills, and even cliff sides. South of Circle C Ranch is Meridian, a master planned community that began development in 2005. Built between 2006 and 2014, the European-inspired homes in Meridian rest on spacious lots and are composed of brick, stone and stucco. The Montopolis Bridge has been renovated to be a bicycle and pedestrian path over the Colorado River and has since been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Montopolis is home to a population over 10,000 who enjoy the mixed urban and suburban vibe there.

Montopolis is served by two school districts. Children zoned to Austin Independent School District will attend Allison Elementary, Martin Middle School, and Eastside Memorial High School. This part of town found its infancy post WWII, and today is considered a “hip” place to live. Filled with plenty of bungalow-style single-family homes, you’ll find an eclectic mix of neighbors as it’s a popular area with students and young professionals, as well as artists and longtime residents.

This pedestrian-friendly neighborhood offers independent businesses including vintage shops, classic boutiques, coffeehouses, and bars. Some unique shops include Room Service Vintage offering funky furniture and apparel, Big Bertha’s Paradise featuring fine jewelry and costume jewelry as well as furs, and Breakaway Records, an all-vinyl record store.

North Loop is bordered by I-35 and Lamar Blvd. and situated between Koenig Lane and West 51st Street.

Since the neighborhood is located so close to freeways and busy thoroughfares, it makes it a convenient place to live, work, and play. Access puts you close to downtown and the University of Texas as well as all parts of Austin. Living in North Loop provides residents with an “urban suburban” feel.

Northwest Hills

Northwest Hills is often referred to as Far West, named after its main street, Far West Boulevard. Located in the northwestern part of Austin, this neighborhood was originally purchased and developed by David Barrow Sr and Edward Barrow along with their associates. The land was purchased one parcel at a time from M. E. Hart, a Canadian businessman, and a man known as Capitan Knox. By the 1950s, the Barrows owned 2500 acres of developed land in northwest Austin.

Location

Northwest Hills is a beautiful, hilly, area with amazing views. It’s located between Far West Blvd. to 2222 and Mesa Dr. to Mountainclub Dr. close to Great Hills and Tarrytown. Easy access to Mopac and 360, allows for only about a 15-minute car ride to downtown Austin and a little less than a half hour to Austin Bergstrom International Airport.

Mostly built up between the 50s and the 80s, many Austin commuters call Northwest Hills home, where you’ll find ranch style homes on oversized lots and more contemporary limestone houses. Many homes are set into limestone cliffs or back up to wooded canyons.

Living away from the downtown scene in a quiet, peaceful place won’t keep you away from all the city has to offer. All along Far West Blvd, there are plenty of small businesses and restaurants such as Siena Italian Restaurant and Eddie V’s.

Some residents enjoy Westover Hills Country Club, a private recreational club that offers swimming, tennis, camps and activities. A nearby landmark worth a visit is Mount Bonnell that looks out over Lake Austin. Visitors can scale a steep trail or climb the steps to the view at the top 775 feet high.

Oak Hill is a community of neighborhoods located above the Edwards and Trinity aquifers, thereby featuring caves and springs. Since Oak Hill is not incorporated, no legal boundaries exist. It is located near the Y in Oak Hill, or the intersection of U.S. 290 and TX-71. Annexed by Austin in 1989, the area known as Oak Hill has gone by other names in its past.

Welcome to the Neighborhood History

In 1835, the area known as Oak Hill was called Live Oak Springs when it was awarded to William Cannon by the Mexican government.

By 1869, the area was renamed Oatmanville after a prominent landowner at the time, B.F. Oatman. The name Oak Hill wasn’t adopted until 1900. Settlers came to the area for lumber. In addition, during the construction of the Texas State Capitol, the economy grew due to the nearby quarries where limestone was shipped.

Today, Oak Hill has a population close to 17,000. The area, which continued to expand further west, offers suburban living for families and young professionals alike. Residents enjoy traditional ranch style homes and more modern style homes as well.

Considering the size and location of Oak Hill, there are many schools that serve students living in the area. Most common to the area are Oak Hill Elementary, Mills Elementary, Bailey Middle School, Small Middle School, Bowie High School, and Travis High School.

Developed between 1886 and 1953 on a plateau west of downtown Austin, Old West Austin features three neighborhoods: Old Enfield, Pemberton Heights, and Bryker Woods. From cottages to mansions, the homes in Old West Austin maintain their character.

The historic neighborhoods encompass a stretch of area from Mopac Expressway to Lamar Boulevard east and west, and from 13th St to 35th street south to north. Bordering two other historic areas, Clarksville and West Line, Old West Austin features its own collection of well-preserved properties. The American Planning Association named Old West Austin one of the 10 Great Neighborhoods in America.

School Districts

AISD public schools that serve students in the Old West Austin Area cover all three neighborhoods. Elementary schools include Bryker Woods, Matthews, Casis, and Barton Hills. The schools feed into O. Henry Middle School and Austin High School.

History

Old Enfield lies the furthest south of the three neighborhoods located near Pease Park, named for Texas Governor Elisha M. Pease. Many of the oldest colonial homes in Austin are part of this community including the Pease Mansion, also known as Woodlawn. This mansion was visited by Sam Houston and General Custer!

Pemberton Heights, north of Old Enfield, was developed in 12 sections between 1927 and the 1940s and offers mostly one- or two-story homes that are the largest houses on the largest lots in Old West Austin. Windsor Park is a transformed area in Northeast Austin. While holding on to its unique hotspots and local businesses, the established area has grown far beyond its farmland roots settled in the 1850s when a good portion of the land was owned by Robert and Mae Berkman.

Recent development is due in part to the development of the Mueller retail center which is home to the neighborhood’s first large stores and restaurants. Offering many ranch-style homes built between the 1950s and 1970s, Windsor Park is an affordable area with wide streets lined with towering trees. Nearby amenities include Bartholomew Park which offers 57 acres of space along Tannehill Creek and includes a pool, splash pad, and disc golf course. Additionally, residents enjoy baseball fields, picnic areas, barbecue grills, and basketball courts. Other nearby parks include Dottie Jordan Park, Patterson Park, and the Hancock Golf Course.
