Lewis Mountain Ranch is a highly desirable, peaceful area that boasts country living within the southwest part of Austin. Located between US 290 and Slaughter Lane, just off of FM 1826, Lewis Mountain Drive will welcome you in to an established area where families are able to relax and escape the bustling city vibe. Considered a quiet little area, it is still only 20 minutes from downtown Austin, Lake Austin, and Lake Travis.

History

Two smaller areas on either side have emerged within the community, The Estates of Lewis Mountain is a gated area developed between 1998-2000 offering homes of 3500 sq. ft. on average that rest on 2 to 5 acres of land. Homes located in the Overlook at Lewis Mountain were built between 1999 and 2005 and average 4000 sq. ft. each situated on 1-1.5 acres As the name suggests, the Overlook provides amazing Hill Country views. Turnover in Lewis Mountain Ranch is quite low, creating a very stable community with home values that are well above average.

Amenities

Lewis Mountain Ranch offers residents easy access to SH-45 for an easy route to Mopac toward central Austin. In addition, its proximity to US-290 allows for easy travel to Dripping Springs and the Hill Country. Shopping and dining for residents in Lewis Mountain are easy, as the area is very close to Escarpment Village, Parkside Village, and Arbor Trails.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Grey Rock Golf Club is only minutes away as well as the Veloway, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and several parks that offer hike and bike trails. Popular restaurants in the area include The Salt Lick, Trattoria Lisina and Mandola Vineyard, and Mandola’s.

Within Travis County, on its southwestern edge, most of the homes in Lewis Mountain Ranch were built during the mid 1990s. Homes rest on an average of one to four acres and touch upon natural preserves, greenbelts and parks throughout the area. In fact, Slaughter Creek and the Slaughter Creek Trail run through the middle of Lewis Mountain Ranch.

Children in Lewis Mountain Ranch generally attend Austin ISD schools including Baldwin Elementary, Gorzycki Middle School, and Bowie High School.
