Welcome to the Neighborhood
If you are in the market for a home in the heart of Austin’s “Keep it Weird” district, look no further than North Loop. This part of town found its infancy post WWII, and today is considered a “hip” place to live. Filled with plenty of bungalow-style single-family homes, you’ll find an eclectic mix of neighbors as it’s a popular area with students and young professionals, as well as artists and longtime residents.
Amenities
This pedestrian-friendly neighborhood offers independent businesses including vintage shops, classic boutiques, coffeehouses, and bars. Some unique shops include Room Service Vintage offering funky furniture and apparel, Big Bertha’s Paradise featuring fine jewelry and costume jewelry as well as furs, and Breakaway Records, an all-vinyl record store.
Location
North Loop is bordered by I-35 and Lamar Blvd. and situated between Koenig Lane and West 51st Street.
Since the neighborhood is located so close to freeways and busy thoroughfares, it makes it a convenient place to live, work, and play. Access puts you close to downtown and the University of Texas as well as all parts of Austin. Living in North Loop provides residents with an “urban suburban” feel.
