In Northwest Austin, lies a popular neighborhood called Avery Ranch. Rich in history, Avery Ranch is a master-planned community that began development in 2000. It is one of the larger Austin communities with over 4,000 homes situated on 1800 acres of hill country land.

School Districts

Two school districts serve the children of Avery Ranch: Round Rock ISD and Leander ISD. Public elementary schools include Rutledge Elementary, Patsy Sommer Elementary, and England Elementary. Stiles Middle School and Pearson Ranch Middle School serve grades 6-8, and McNeil High School and Vista Ridge High School serve students in grades 9-12.

For those looking for a more established neighborhood, Barton Creek is one of the largest of these communities on the west side of Austin. Covering more than 4,000 acres, Barton Creek is nestled between the Barton Creek Habitat Preserve and the Barton Creek Wilderness Park and Barton Creek Greenbelt.
