Owned and operated by groups including Endeavor Real Estate Group and Simon Property Group, The Domain is an office, retail, and residential center located in northwest Austin. Bordered on the north and south by Loop 1 and Braker Lane, and on the west and east by the Union Pacific Railroad and Burnet Road, The Domain was built in three phases with its first phase completed in 2007. Homes in the neighborhood near The Domain include older homes and some newer constructions. The more established homes are mostly ranch style homes and traditional 2-story homes offering upgraded kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, and flooring, making them desirable in today’s market. The price range is vast depending on the home’s size and features.

Amenities History

The Domain attracts a younger, working crowd who find it more economical to live and work in the same area rather than living downtown facing a commute. With so many amenities in the area and such a great environment, everything residents need is within walking distance.Some trendy Austin eateries located at The Domain include Culinary Dropout, Velvet Taco, 24 Diner, Flower Child, and Sprinkles Cupcakes to name a few. For those that enjoy an active social life, many residents enjoy Punch Bowl Social, which offers bowling, ping-pong, karaoke, food, and drinks, TopGolf, iPic Theaters, or even a unique location called Soulcycle for indoor cycling.

Development of the first phase began in 2003 creating an area that offered restaurants, office space, retail and specialty stores, apartments, and a hotel. An additional 45 acres became home to phase two which opened in 2008 adding more retail stores, restaurants and apartments, as well as Gold Class Cinema movie theater. At the same time, a green area venue was created to host live bands and food trucks on the weekends making The Domain a “Live Work Play” environment. The third and final phase of The Domain is home to 1.4 million square feet of hotel, retail, and residential space bringing the total number of residential units to over 3000.

School Districts

For children living in and near The Domain, Austin ISD provides education at several public schools with most children attending Summitt Elementary, Murchison Middle School, and Anderson High School.
