Welcome to the Neighborhood

A close-knit community is north central Austin is Brentwood. Established over 50 years ago, this area is home to many one-and-a-half story bungalow-style homes, some of which were purchased by returning soldiers after World War II. The result is a comfortable neighborhood were many residents have lived for decades.

History

Originally a cotton farm until the land was annexed by Austin in the 1940s, Brentwood is a beautiful tree-lined neighborhood divided by Arroyo Seco Creek.

Amenities

With close to 8,000 residents, Brentwood is a desirable neighborhood in which to live. The urban neighborhood is near many restaurants, coffee shops, and bars making it most popular with young professionals. Centrally located between Mopac and Interstate 35 makes the work commute very easy to most parts of Austin.

Brentwood Park is over nine acres of public space featuring soccer fields, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a playground. Another point of interest is the Wall of Welcome. Completed in 2008, the mosaic wall is 120 feet long and reflects the community.

School Districts

Schools that serve children living in the Brentwood area include Brentwood Elementary, Bryker Woods Elementary, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School.
