Drama What an exciting year it has been for Drama at Trinity! We were proud to present Lord of the Flies as the College production this year. This was a challenging play for the Year 11 Drama students to take on; however, the cast and crew did an outstanding job. These talented performers stepped up to the mark and established characters that were both creative and believable. The concept of constructing a digital set was one of the stand-out features of this show. We decided to place the characters in two distinct worlds: the literal setting of the deserted island as well as a technological world. By exploring the idea of technology, students were able to modernise the play whilst also using many of its original concepts. The cast consisting of Matthew Argile (11.1), d’Artagnan Boylan (11.8), Harry Boyle (11.1), Liam Buckley (11.1), Tennessee Buti (11.3), Hieu Dong (11.4), Alex Hammond (11.1), Declan Kiddle (11.5), Euan MacMillan (11.6), Joshua Morcombe (11.3), Zachary Mwangangi (11.5), Samuel O’Connell (11.6) and Brodie Scott (11.7) received excellent feedback for their production and should be proud of their efforts. We also saw our second Year 12 WACE Drama class graduate and achieve some outstanding results. This group of students participated in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival and performed in a Year 12 showcase evening

highlighting their hard work and dedication to the course. A special mention must be made to this year’s Drama Captain, Luke McPherson (12.6) and Vice-captain, Liam Crevola (12.3). These students demonstrated excellent leadership and we thank them for their commitment and support. There were many talented and enthusiastic students involved in the Drama electives. Some stand-out performances this year came from our Year 8 students with their highly engaging improvisation skills, the Year 9s melodrama performances and the Year 10s physical theatre pieces. In addition to this, our Year 7 Drama Club students also participated in several workshops and in school competitions, with all students doing a fantastic job. We offer a special thank you to Mr Ben Mitchell for his time and effort this year—he is an integral part of our Drama team. We are already looking forward to our 2017 Drama programs and the subject taking another leap forward! Ms Lisa Laurino Drama Coordinator
