College Auxiliary
The 2016 year was a busy and fulfilling time for the Trinity College Auxiliary. The Trinity community’s support of Auxiliary events was overwhelming and it proves our TC Spirit is alive and well.
Mrs Nicola Gosatti President, Trinity College Auxiliary
We began the year with our annual Information Night and the evening provided a great opportunity to ask questions and get information directly from other parents. My thanks to Headmaster, Mr Ivan Banks, Mrs Sarah Di Bartolomeo, Mr Stephen Leahy (’78), Mrs Stacey Kannis, Student Services staff and Auxiliary members for giving their time to provide expert information and assistance on the night.
Again, our Grandparents’ Morning Tea was a joyous occasion this year. It was wonderful to see our Year 8 students bring so many special family members to this event. The success of these events relies on the generosity of the College community and the large number of Year 8 volunteers was very much appreciated. Our guest speakers for this year’s Auxiliary Morning Tea were Mr Andrew Embley (‘98) and Mr Adrian Barich. Andrew and Adrian entertained us with footy stories, stories from their Catholic upbringing and the importance of leadership and goal-setting. The MC for the occasion was our very own, Bernie D and I thank her for her invaluable contribution. Once again, our fundraising on the day was for our guest speakers’ chosen charity and we proudly donated $3000 to Telethon. I thank our generous sponsors, our Year 10 waiters and those parents who donated the delicious food. Our Ladies Long Lunch, this year held at Bistro Guillaume, provided the mothers of Trinity with an opportunity to connect and meet new people and enjoy each others company. Once again, the Auxiliary provided support to TOBA functions, Junior School events, the Parent Council Ball and supported many ‘Friends of …’ groups at the College.
To our new, continuing and incoming officer bearers: Mrs Stacey Kannis (Vice President), Mrs Katalin Torre (Secretary), Mrs Rita Rocca (Treasurer), Mrs Melanie Day (Junior School Vice President), Mrs Kim Rees (Kitchen Coordinator), Mrs Josie Nardelli and Mrs Christina Miller (Kitchen Coordinator’s Assistants), my sincerest thanks for your ongoing support and never-ending hard work over the past year. On behalf of the Auxiliary, we extend our thanks to our Headmaster, Mr Ivan Banks and the College staff. Whilst we are ‘behind the scenes’ ensuring the success of many events, this would not happen without the continued support of the College administration. To the College parents, who extend their hand of support whenever asked, I thank you. Finally, to the members of the Auxiliary, the ‘Women for Others’—this special group of women without whom the Auxiliary wouldn’t exist and be the success that it is—my overwhelming thanks to you all. God Bless.
