Trinity Dance Programs Boys in Groove (BIG) and Guys in Groove (GIG

BIG and GIG kicked off 2016 with record attendance at the annual dance auditions making selection very difficult.

Both groups spent Term 1 working on a variety of dance skills and styles including hip hop, street and contemporary dance. In June, BIG and GIG impressed parents and friends at the Dance Showcase with a joint hip hop routine and ‘in progress’ pieces for the Catholic Schools’ Performing Arts Festival. Some of the senior boys presented original solos much to the delight of the audience.

In September, both BIG and GIG performed at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre as part of the Catholic Schools’ Performing Arts Festival. Both groups presented energetic performances to a large audience. BIG impressed with their Olympic themed routine, ‘Ready, Set, Go’ and GIG was awarded an honourable mention for their piece on evolution ‘Revolve’. Both BIG and GIG performed at their respective presentation nights to finish off a fantastic year.

I would like to thank Dr Robert Braham and the music staff for all of their support this year. Thanks to all our dancers from BIG and GIG for their dedication, hard work and commitment this year.
