Annual: Trinity 2016

Campus Ministry In our busy lives it is important to take time to stop and reflect on God and what God is calling us to in our lives. Trinity is a busy place with academics, sport, music, art and dance all vying for our attention.

At Trinity we also believe that it is very important to make time for prayer and reflection. And so we have extensive retreat programs for all students, which begin with Becoming Brothers for Year 7s, welcoming the new students to Trinity and introducing them to the Trinity spirit. We continue with Quest for Year 8s, when we encourage them to reach out to others and to continue reflecting on how God is present in our lives. The Year 9s spend a day on the Galilee retreat, walking by a body of water, reflecting on how Jesus walks with them and calls them to be Men for Others. In Year 10 on the Emmaus retreat, the students encounter the Risen Jesus. In Year 11 on the Encounter retreat, the students spend a day reviewing their week of Christian Service, reflecting on how they encountered Jesus as they helped others. Early in the year, the Year 12s pause to reflect during their Tabgha retreat on the gifts they have received and how they can share these. The Year 12s also have the opportunity to volunteer to participate in the three, fourday Kairos retreats, when they are guided by their peers to discover God’s love in their lives. All these experiences can only happen because of the generosity of staff members, Old Boys and current students who volunteer to be leaders and help our students to develop their spirituality. Fra Oscar and the Music Department also help to make our liturgical celebrations more meaningful by putting their talents at our disposal. Mr Leo Murray Director of Campus Ministry

Mr Leo Murray Director of Campus Ministry

“THIS IS WHAT THE LORD REQUIRES OF YOU: TO ACT JUSTLY, TO LOVE TENDERLY, AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH GOD.”

THE MISSION OF CAMPUS MINISTRY We, Campus Ministry at Trinity College, as part of the Body of Christ, are called to glorify God in all aspects of our lives. We are called to create and foster an environment where all can develop an understanding and awareness of and a personal relationship with God, who dwells in and around our neighbour and us. In this environment we strive to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and the building of community. Through our worship, prayer, service, study and reflection and even our leisure activities, we reach out to our campus community, the greater Perth community and the world. Within the Trinity community, we hope to engender a commitment to life-long spiritual growth, to realize the deepening of a love relationship with God and to instil an understanding of the interconnectedness of our human family, a family characterized by mercy and divine justice, by peace, love and joy.
